Props:

The decision was also made to have a bag/clutch as a prop for the girl character. To try and make the performance more realistic, we are having the girl characters holding either a clutch or a purse, preferably the same bag (to symbolise the same character) so that it gave the nightclub feel. This prop will either be sourced by the stage management team with a budget if needed to buy it or the actors will own these already.

Club Chemistry said that we were able to use anything from the club within reason if we asked. We want to be able to use their cups just like the picture on the right to also symbolise the club scene and how the dangers of drinking can influence sexual harassment.

This prop is sourced by the Stage Management team and will need permission from the club to use.

The idea is that Rory will be playing the male character, a typical clubbing attire for a male would be a wallet. Whether this comes out during the performance or not, he will have it in his back pocket.

This prop will either be sourced by the stage management team with a budget if needed to buy it or the actors will own these already.

For Rory’s duologue he will be doing a

chair duet and so chem’s bar stools will be being used. This prop is sourced by the Stage Management team and will need permission from the club to use.

Costume:

The group decision was made that the female character would have an item of clothing that would be the same because we were each playing the same character. So not to confuse the audience, we would use a piece of costume that would signify that character. I chose a headband for this item of clothing because it was simple but yet effective.

For the clothes, I wanted both male and female clothes to be minimalistic to interpret Brechtian theatre techniques. For both they are to wear black clubbing clothes. These needed to be suitable to dance in but also practical. I wanted if possible for the girls to be showing their assets because then the audience would guess it would be about the boy sexually harassing the girl because of what she was wearing but in fact it was the other way round.
