The Confrontation
In this video I wanted to show the boy confront the girl about how he feels after the incident happened. The girl is very sure about herself and knows she can manipulate the situation and it's clearly presented in the scene I created for the script. The boy's body language explores his insecurities and vulnerability , demonstrated in his lowering of eye contact looking down and he's being easily knocked down by the perpetrator which is the girl. I wanted to explore the idea of the language used in the dialogue thinking about the power a statement has, such as the lines 'silence doesn't mean yes'.
If we were to have performed this in the club, I would have hoped for them to be facing each other in the middle of the floor in front of the audience. My visions for this scene was to have it be very intimate within the audience because this is the first time they meet and talk about the incident. With this scene i really want the audience for probably the first time, to feel empathy toward the boy.
I chose to film it like this because it was as if they were facing each other, I would have liked them to be next to each other on the screen but unfortunately that was not able to be done because of where the zoom call kept putting my icon.
